On Cyprus’ entry to the euro since January 1^st, 2008 the euro has become the Republic’s monetary unit, and its currency has been issued within the framework of the Eurosystem.  

In July 2007 Cyprus pound was locked with the Euro at the rate of 0.585274 and this ratio has been sustained to-date.
